Diagnostic tests are performed on the premises at Garibaldi Veterinary Hospital
We have the ability to perform a broad range of diagnostic tests right in the hospital. These include a variety of blood tests, urinalyses, radiographs (x-rays), ultrasound and many other diagnostic tests. Having the testing equipment and expertise on hand eliminates the need to transfer most samples to an external laboratory for analysis. This allows us to get results of diagnostic tests very quickly so that appropriate therapy and treatment can be commenced quickly. Any surgeries, routine or emergency, can be started knowing that your pet’s organs are functioning properly and that there are no hidden health conditions that could put your pet at risk while under a general anesthetic. Healthy-looking pets may be hiding symptoms of a disease or aliment. If there are any discrepancies in the results of your pets testing, we can alter the anesthetic procedure or take other precautions to safeguard your pet’s health.
Diagnostic testing is also a very important component as these tests become part of your pet’s medical record, providing a baseline for future reference.
